EUSFiL - European Union Sustainable Finance and Law
Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence dedicated to advancing new research, teaching and promoting debate on European sustainable financial law. The Centre supports the production and dissemination of applied research on money, international markets, banking, finance and regulation using a multidisciplinary approach. It works to develop closer and deeper relationships between academics, civil servants and professionals, linking the scientific analysis with the policy problems that market participants and public institutions have to address and fix. One of the outcomes is The Cambridge Handbook of EU Sustainable Finance: Regulation, Supervision and Governance, edited by Kern Alexander, Matteo Gargantini e Michele Siri, Cambridge University Press (forthcoming in 2024). EU Financial and Insurance Markets Regulation (EuFIMAR)
The JM Chair in EU Financial and Insurance Markets Regulation (EuFIMAR) aimed to boost the knowledge and to understand EU financial and insurance markets through a multi-step approach. To this purpose, the project implemented curricular courses, seminars, conferences, and cross-sectoral research. More information on EuFIMAR.
Corporate Governance of Financial Institutions. Law, conduct and culture
The project explored the corporate governance of financial institutions from an interdisciplinary perspective, including financial regulation, corporate law, ethics and culture. In connection with the project monthly meetings were held within the Workshop on “Culture and ethics in Finance” at the Department of Business Law at the University of Genoa and at Allen & Overy in Milan. The main outcome of the project is the volume Governance of Financial Institutions, published by Oxford University Press, in 2019.
Boards and Shareholders in European Listed Companies: Facts, Context and Post-Crisis
Research Project sponsored by Emittenti Titoli S.p.A., which aimed to analyze some pivotal topics in corporate governance, studying both pre- and post-crisis periods from a law & economics perspective. The main outcome of the project is the volume Boards and Shareholders in European Listed Companies. Facts, Context and Post-Crisis Reforms, edited by Guido Ferrarini and Massimo Belcredi, and published by Cambridge University Press in 2013.
